The preparatory visit took place in Gebze, TurkeyGEBZE 30/09/2010 to 2/10/2010
The Turkish team welcomed the French teacher Corinne Le Doaré. They went to the Ministry of Education and met the people in charge of the Education in Gebze area. They understood some major points of the school system in Turkey and differences between the French and the Turkish system were pointed out . The English teacher Dave Wordingham arrived in the evening and a dinner was served at the hotel. The first workshop helped people to meet each other, present themselves, the directors organised a visit of the school and of different school classes. Some students were really happy and proud to ask questions to the foreign teachers. The meaning and bases of the project were approved by all the participants. Everyone could tell his opinion. The communication in English was easy for each of us. The choice of the coordinating country and order of the different countries in the project were discussed : the most experienced teams were chosen first to lead the project. The Saturday and Sunday mornings were dedicated to the detailed writing of the mobilities : activities during the visits and in between the visits. The three countries agreed on a level of involvement and results and on a common mobilities organisation. The cultural differences between us were discussed in order to limit some difficulties, for example about hosting students in families in GB or in Turkey. Some solutions have been found and written in the project. Two videoconferencing sessions were organised to meet the Romanian and the Polish teams. The decisions were presented and their agreement given. Eventually, some time was used to find the best solutions to get to each country. The afternoons were dedicated to some visits of the area, Gebze first and Istanbul. A dinner was served with all the teachers involved in the project from the Turkish school and some important sites were visited. |
