The Comenius Risks ProjectAccidents only happen to others, somewhere else or by chance... The task of prevention and protection of young people faced with these risks is the responsibility of those involved in education as well as parents.
We want students to be able to identify and understand the risks they will be subjected to during their life. During educational activities teachers insist on protection from risks (in science, sport etc) But the most dangerous habits are acquired during childhood (eating habits, lack of exercise etc) and in adolescence ( smoking, alcohol, lack of judgement etc) and we want to stress these risks. |
In their daily life, the habit of using new technologies (internet, addiction to the mobile phone, social networks like Facebook or listening to loud music etc) can be the source of distressing problems which can even become dangerous. We also want students to be able to identify and understand risks in their environment (floods, earthquakes, eruption of volcanoes or industrial risks).
All of us within this european project will have to deal with different risks but the same problems will appear in the lives of our teenagers. Stereotypes of foreigners appear frequently and can prove to be dangerous without a proper inter-cultural education, we will therefore use informal training activities in order to prove that despite our differences we all belong to the same Europe. We are helping the students to grow up in Europe and through scientific experiments, questionnaires and interviews students will adopt sensible behaviour and become responsible citizens. |
